Missy Elliot Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree from Berklee College of Music!

Missy Elliot is celebrating tonight after receiving an honorary doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston MA yesterday! Justin Timberlake also received an honorary doctorate in music

In a video, Missy, who was dressed in her cap and gown proudly held up her framed diploma.  In her caption, she said, "CREATE YOUR OWN LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely Dr. MISSY ELLIOTT @BerkleeCollege Thank you for this Honorary Doctorate Degree I am SO HUMBLED ". "Optimistic" by Sound of Blackness was playing in the background.

Missy is currently on tour. In April, she announced that she finished working on her new album, and it is expected to drop soon. We'll be waiting! Back in January, she was inducted into the Songwriters's Hall of Fame. 

She is a game changer, and we are so proud of her! Congratulations Missy!
