Who else saw the gorgeous Anika Noni Rose at The 69th Annual Primetime Emmys last night? She was rocking a red curly fade with the slickest edges! The style was done by Professional Cutz, who is also the barber for Queen Sugar actor "Kofi Siriboe (Ralf Angel). Anika Noni Rose wore a beautiful custom dress by Thai Nguyen Atelier.

Last night, Rose and living legend Cicely Tyson shared a classic moment while presenting the award for Outstanding Limited Series. Ms. Tyson was very nervous and unable to continue with her speech. Anika Noni Rose was patient and whispered in her ear to encourage her. After a short time, Rose continued the presentation. Kudos to her! Tyson starred in the 1977 version of the TV show Roots, and Rose starred in the 2016 remake.

Rose wasn't the only one rocking her natural hair to the Emmy's this year. Uzo Aduba, Yara Shahidi, Issa Rae, Gabrielle Union, Lena Waithe and more were also rocking fly natural and/or textured hairstyles. 

Anika Noni Rose is currently working as the voice of a character named "Tiana" in the Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 movie to be released in 2018.

But, what about people of other races attempting to make their hair kinky or textured like that of African-Americans? Sheryl Underwood Wears Natural Hair and Apologizes on The Talk

She received a round of applause, and Sharon Osbourne commented that her Teenie Weenie Afro (TWA) was gorgeous. Underwood explained to her fellow co-hosts and audience that she'd done something wrong 2 years ago when she spoke against the actions of Heidi Klum for keeping her sons' Afro hair in a bag as a keepsake. She said the hair was "nasty." Underwood received backlash for her words, especially from the Black community. They were viewed as examples of self-hatred among other things.
