Finding "Mr. Right" in College

Happy Monday, my blessed naturals!
I have been getting the nudge to talk about college relationships and finding "Mr. Right." This article is for any young lady who is expecting to find "Mr. Right" in college.

College can be a very exciting time of your life. It may be a good feeling to study subjects in which you have a real interest. Also, you may be moving on campus and excited about your new found independence. You may also be looking for "Mr. Right" a.k.a "the one." My advice is to avoid setting that expectation for yourself. Although it is not impossible, it is very unlikely that you will find "the one" in college.

In addition, when you keep the expectation in your mind of needing to find "Mr. Right" in college, you set yourself up for disappointment. This may cause you to open up physically, emotionally, and/or mentally to a guy who may have never been designed to even cross your path. While you are getting to know a little more about yourself in college and getting your studies on, your male counterparts may be doing the same. Some of them may also just be looking to have a "good" time.

It may sound like a wack thing, but try to focus on your studies and enjoy your college life. Try things like hanging out with your friends, meeting new people, studying, participating in school groups or clubs etc.  It may not appear so, but your time in college is a small amount out of the bigger picture of your life.

As corny as it may sound, there will be time for meeting "Mr. Right" and falling in love. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, 'To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens."Ecclesiastes 3:8 says, 'A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." So, please believe that when God feels it is the right time, "Mr. Right" will find you. Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." Until then, stay focused on your studies and enjoy your college life.
