Yesterday, Viola Davis shared a photo on social media of her daughter, Genesis dressed up as her for Halloween. The caption of the photo was this: So.....the Elsa costume? Didn't work for her. The Pirate? A no go. So she finally said," I just want to be YOU mommy"! So... uhh.....this is ME. The 4-year-old wore a white dress and Afro, while holding a statue. Little Davis' costume was reminiscent of her mother's look for this year's Emmy Awards where she won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for How To Get Away With Murder. She made history as the first African-American to win in that category.

Viola Davis' daughter was not the only one who was inspired by her look. Sharane Ellis posted a photo of a little girl who was also dressed like Davis for Halloween. I love the fact that the actresses daughter and others dressed up as her because it shows what happens when kids have positive role models. Genesis' choice to skip all of the other costumes to be her mom shows how much she looks up to and adores her. I'm not a parent, but I can guess that's probably the biggest compliment of all!
