Before Going Natural: "Please Comb It"

Hey everyone,
I hope that you had a great day... I have been wanting to post this pic for awhile, but I kept forgetting to do it... The pic was taken back in 2009. I would put sponge rollers in my hair after washing it to give it a somewhat naturally curly look. I would do this when I did not want to relax my hair right away. During this particular week, I had worn my hair curly and decided to go to a Dominican doobie salon to get a perm and doobie. My hair was as kinky as it could possibly be with a perm. I will never forget how the stylist looked at me. She was an angry woman any way, and the sight of my hair made it worst. She handed me a wide tooth comb and told me to comb it out. I was happy because she probably would have combed my hair out. This whole experience was my punishment for letting my hair get "nappy". It's a shame too because Dominican's hair has all different hair textures that range from super kinky to super straight.  But, I had committed a dangerous crime ladies & gentlemen lol. I'm glad that I don't have to think about that any more lol. I thank God for that.  :-) - 1 BlessedNatural

  1. I to have been scolded at by stylist for letting my hair get too "nappy". I'm glad that I am no longer giving them my money.
    Blessings!

  2. Never been "scolded" but I have been ridiculed. My FORMER stylist, when I went to see him to but my relaxed ends off, which was incidentally the LAST time I saw him, made jokes (that he thought was funny) about how my hair was the same as trying to wring out a wet rug. Then he laughed and laughed while I didn't.

And he wonders why I never went back.

Being natural is sweet, sweet, sweet.
