Celebrate the Positive Things in Your Life

Happy Sunday everyone,
I hope you all had a great week. Today I wanted to talk about celebrating and thinking about the positive things in your life.

Philippians 4:8
 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

We have clear instructions in God's word that says we should think about the positive things in our lives. Yet, many times we dwell on the negative things, even when they are small. For example, it's Monday morning and you forgot your umbrella. The skies open up right before you get out of the car. But you can't run the risk of being late, so you hop out of your car and run into the building. Your clothes are soaked and afro is shrunken. When you get into the office, your boss motions for you to come into his office.  He says you've been approved for a raise. After walking out of his office, you almost walk into a co-worker who tells you your hair is messed up. When you get home,  the one thing you continue thinking about is the fact that you got caught in the rain and your hair was messed up. God would want you to focus on the blessing of waking up that morning, having a job, and getting a raise. There may be more blessings in between like the fact you arrived to and from work safely.

Although it can be easier said than done, I want to challenge you to start thinking and celebrating the positive things instead of the negative things. Write down all of the good things and/or accomplishments at the end of each day or week. You will find a lot to celebrate :-)
