Natural Girl Gone Thrifting: Part 2

I hope you all enjoyed Part 1 of my series "Natural Girl Gone Thrift Shopping!" I am excited to introduce Part 2...

In May, my sister and I got the opportunity to visit the Good Will thrift store. The one thing I really liked about the store was the clothes were organized by colors. This made it really easy to shop. It also cut down on time because, if you are looking for a particular color you can go right to that section without wasting time looking through racks of clothing. The clothing section of the store was much smaller than Unique Thrift Store clothing section.

I don't know if it's just me, but often when I am looking at a particular item in a store, someone else needs to look in the same section at the same time or vice versa, lol.  My sister and I started at one end of a rack of shirts. The next thing we knew, a woman was reaching over my sister's arm to view the same exact items my sister viewing, lol. I had to do everything in my power not to laugh! It was unbelievable! My sister said, "Come on! Let's look over here!" LOL, then we both walked to a different rack. I was cracking up!

When we moved to the pink shirt section, I found a beautiful pink shirt that was crocheted at the top and around the sleeves. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was actually a maternity shirt by Liz Lange. When I tried it on, I thought it looked really cute. The dressing room had a mirror inside, so I didn't have to worry about walking outside of the dressing room to look. I always have a hard time finding jeans, but my sister found a nice pair of dark blue, boot cut Wrangler Relaxed Fit jeans for me. When was the last time you heard about Wranglers?!?! That is one of the great things about thrift stores! You can find so many different styles in one place.

The last item I found was a green Merona button-up shirt. Both Merona & Liz Lange brands are normally found at Target. I washed all the clothes before wearing them.

During my visit, I found the following items:

(1) Liz Lange maternity shirt: $3.99
(1) Merona button-up shirt:$3.99
+     (1) pair of Wrangler Relaxed Fit jeans: $6.99
----------------------------------------------------------
My total was $14.97

In Part 1 of "Natural Girl Gone Thrifting," I bought a Notations floral print, tank top. Because the top was a 3X  and I wear a medium-large, I had the challenge of making it fit. I promised you all that I would post pictures of the outfit. In the picture above, you can see I added a purple tank top, waist belt, and open half sweater. The belt and half sweater were not purchased at a thrift store. My hair is in a two strand twist, pin curl out (instructions).

I wore a cream colored waist length sweater with the maternity shirt and grey slacks. The sweater visually cut down the length of the maternity shirt. I'm glad because it looked like it could go on forever, lol.  I wore my hair in a puff with side flat twists and swolop bang.

What clothes have you found at thrift stores that you weren't expecting to find?
