Natural Hair Rundown: Mini Twists, Puff, and New Favorite Conditioner

1BlessedNatural: Natural Hair Update, Mini Twists, Puff, and New Favorite Conditioner

Hey, my blessed naturals!
It feels like it's been forever since I've given you all an update on my hair. If you follow me on Instagram, it hasn't been quite so long (smile). Here's a rundown of my natural hairstyles and maintenance for this month:

Friday, January 6, 2017: Mini Twists

January 6, 2017: I decided to do mini twists because I was tired of doing my hair. Plus, I needed to check the health of my ends. They took me 5-6 hours to complete. I clipped my ends the next day. I only needed to remove 1/2 inch.

Friday, January 6, 2017: Pin curled mini twists.
Afterward, I pin curled my twists (for curls), but they didn't come out right the next morning. They were all spaced out. The only time my pin curled twists come out right is when I make the twists really small. So, they're full. If not, forget it! LOL

I found a new conditioner that I really like, and it only costs around $2.00. It's the Tea Therapy Healthful Green Tea Smoothing Conditioner by V05. It makes my hair so soft, and it smells sooo good! I think it would also be a good co-wash conditioner!

1BlessedNatural: Saturday, January 14, 2017 - I washed my hair and applied the Tea Therapy Healthful Green Tea Smoothing Conditioner by V05

I kept my twists for about 5 or 6 days. Since then, I've been switching between twist outs and puffs.  Gel and my edges have been getting along lately. LOL. I apply Eco Styler with a toothbrush and tie my edges down (with a scarf) until I'm ready to leave for work. At night I rinse the gel out. If it's a lot, I will use a little shampoo to remove it.

Saturday, January 14, 2017 - Puff and cornrows before washing my hair
The Health of My Hair and Scalp

My hair has been pretty healthy, but I wash my hair twice a week. I also do the apple cider vinegar rinses to prevent seborrheic dermatitis flare-ups. Because of the frequent washing, my hair loses protein quicker than if I washed my hair once a week. I applied the ORS Hair Mayonnaise after two of my washes in the last two weeks. My homemade protein conditioner actually does a better job, but I haven't gotten a chance to make it.
