Dani Evans Addresses America's Next Top Model Controversy, and Tyra Banks Apologizes for Problematic Behavior

Yesterday, Tyra Banks released a statement via Twitter apologizing for her problematic behavior on America's Next Top Model. Earlier this week, model and former contestant Danielle "Dani" Evans of cycle 6 also addressed the controversy. Banks came under fire when old clips of the show resurfaced revealing her treatment of some of the aspiring models. She said this:
Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you. Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs. ❤

Dani "Danielle" Evans was told by Banks that she should get the gap in her teeth fixed on cycle 6 of the show. In a video on social media Dani explained, "This is not a video to war against anyone. This is not a video to defame anyone's character, and this is not a video to discuss my relationship with Tyra."

Evans said she only joined the show to get out of her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas and wasn't concerned about its challenges. Evans said that even though Tyra stated on camera that she told Evans to fix her gap, she never actually said it to her. She said, "I knew that I was basically set up and not being told that Tyra wants me to basically get my gap closed, so that it's good for TV."

Dani Evans said she was not upset about Tyra or anyone else's comments, she was only concerned about her goal of leaving her hometown. However, she thought that it was necessary to let all of the girls who were affected by Banks comments know that they're beautiful and they define themselves--no one else. 
I am glad that Tyra acknowledged that some of her behavior was unacceptable.  I'm also loving Dani's message. Hopefully, we will not see this behavior on shows to come.

Actress and minister of Going Beyond Ministries Priscilla Shirer shared her natural hair story and secrets on IG Live today. After receiving numerous questions about her long thick natural hair, she decided it was time to do a video. Shirer said, "I've decided that sometimes, to a woman, hair = ministry." Shirer started getting a perm at about 13 years old. During previous years, her mother would use the hot comb to straighten her hair.
