Hey my blessed naturals,
This past Sunday, Big Sister Natural got her hair washed, straightened, and length checked! After washing and conditioning her hair, we applied TREsemme heat protectant and Ultra Creme Satin-Press to it while it was damp. Her hair was then braided into medium size braids and allowed to dry maybe 90% of the way. Afterwards, BSN's mom blow dried and flat ironed it. Here are the before and after pics:

1BlessedNatural: After BSN's mom blow dried her hair, she put it in big sections, and began flat ironing at the back. She straightened small sections at a time.
1BlessedNatural: All done!
1BlessedNatural: BSN's hair is mid-back length. She does have some split ends that her mother plans to trim off.

Sheryl Underwood Wears Natural Hair and Apologizes on The Talk

1BlessedNatural: Sheryl Underwood Wears Natural Hair and Apologizes on The Talk (photo cred: CBS/The Talk) Yesterday, comedian and talk show host, Sheryl Underwood wore her natural hair onstage of the talk show, The Talk. She received a round of applause, and Sharon Osbourne commented that her Teenie Weenie Afro (TWA) was gorgeous. Underwood explained to her fellow co-hosts and audience that she'd done something wrong 2 years ago when she spoke against the actions of Heidi Klum for keeping her sons' Afro hair in a bag as a keepsake. She said the hair was "nasty." Underwood received backlash for her words, especially from the Black community. They were viewed as examples of self-hatred among other things.
