1BlessedNatural: Big Sister Natural's Impromptu Puff Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals, Yesterday, Big Sister Natural went to school with a ponytail and cornrowed edges and came home with a puff and cornrowed edges lol. I thought it was the cutest thing. She said as soon as she sat outside, she could feel her hair drawing up from the humidity. Too cool! I think she was in shock though! 1BN Kids: Big Sister Natural's Cornrows and French Braid Styles Happy Thursday, my blessed naturals! I hope you all are having a great night! This week, Big Sister Natural has been rocking cornrows. For the first part of the week, her hair was cornrowed up into a doughnut bun. Last night, her mom took them out in the back and unraveled the ones halfway in the front. The picture above shows the results. The french braid photo below was taken in March about a week after BSN's hair was flat ironed . Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals,  I just wanted to share some pics of Big Sister Natural's new style for the week. She is rocking cornrows into a crisscross/flower braided bun. No hair was added. Plus, her hair was still straight from having it flat ironed about 2 weeks ago. Their mom used oil sheen, bobbie pins, and a floral headband for the style.  Are you going to try this style? 1BlessedNatural: 1BN Kids: Big Sister Natural's Flat Ironed Hair and Length Check Hey my blessed naturals, This past Sunday, Big Sister Natural got her hair washed, straightened, and length checked! After washing and conditioning her hair, we applied TREsemme heat protectant and Ultra Creme Satin-Press to it while it was damp. Her hair was then braided into medium size braids and allowed to dry maybe 90% of the way. Afterwards, BSN's mom blow dried and flat ironed it. Big Sister Natural's hair is in a front cornrow that goes into a french braid towards the back of her head. The bottom half of her hair is blown out and left hanging. Grape seed oil was applied to her hair. Little Sister has a similar style from last week, but her twists are in rope twists this week. She has Y-part in the back of her head. 1BlessedNatural: 5 Steps for Washing and Detangling Long & Thick Natural Hair Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals! Two weeks ago, I did my niece Big Sister Natural's (BSN) hair for the first time. Many of you may know that she is 10 years old with a head full of super thick and long natural hair. She is also very tender-headed. I'm going to share with you my 5 steps of washing and detangling her hair: 1BlessedNatural: after applying olive oil to the first section of hair and twisting it 1. Use an oil, conditioner or moisturizer to detangle .   After removing BSN's cornrows, I broke her hair down into medium sized sections. After spraying olive oil on each section, I gently finger detangled it. Coconut oil, in my experience is the best oil for detangling. If you use it you have to use large amounts on each section, especially if the hair is very thick. It's important to try and remove all of the shed hair to minimize tangles during the wash pro...

1BN Kids: Banded Braids and Ponytails Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals! Today, Big Sister and Little Sister Natural were rocking their banded braids and ponytails. My sister and I took them to see the movie HOME , and they loved it! We did too! Big Sister Natural wore her flat ironed her in a ponytail at the top secured with pink and green ponytail holders. Her hair hung loose at the bottom. She had 2 interlocked cornrows in her bang area like in the article before last . Little Sister Natural wore her hair in 3 braided ponytails. She had 2 in the front and 1 in the back. Each ponytail had 3 individual braids that were all secured together with bands or ponytail holders at the ends.  Both of the girls' natural hair was blow dried before styling. 1BlessedNatural- Natural Hair Kids: Braided Bun and Bohemian Styles Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals! This week, my nieces' mom did the girls' hair. Big Sister Natural's hair was straightened and styled into a Bohemian braid style. She wore two cornrows in the front of her hair. Each cornrow came down along her sides and were connected into one braid above her ears, to the back of her head. The rest of her hair was left to hang loose in the back. Her mom lets her put her hair in a bun or ponytail. Little Sister Natural's hair was put into a braided bun.
