I've missed you all! My natural hair regimen has changed quite a bit in the last 2 months and I wanted to give you an update on it!
First off, I started using the Denman brush again because my hair had been tangling too much. When I trimmed my ends on January 22nd, I had a crazy amount of single stand knots (SSKs), and I realized it was because I haven't been detangling my hair thoroughly. My wide-tooth comb alone just wasn't doing the job.
I detangle with the Denman brush 2-3 times a week, especially before twisting my hair for a twist-out. Since I've been doing that, I've noticed that my hair is a lot healthier. The Denman brush also helps to smooth out my hair so my twist-outs look better and more defined. I purchased the Denman brush for about $15.00 from Sally's Beauty.
The Denman contains about 7 rows of teeth. You can remove some of the rows of teeth if you don't like the full grip of the brush on your hair.

I love it because it holds my hair for a long time. I've tried about 3 edge control gels and none of them work like the Creme of Nature gel. It lasts throughout the day and doesn't flake. I found that it absorbs into my hair and scalp by the end of the day, so I don't have to wash it out like a holding gel.
