Natural Hair Regimen Changes: Denman Brush & Creme of Nature Perfect Edges Gel Review

1BlessedNatural: natural hairstyle using bobby pins  Hey, my blessed naturals! I've missed you all!  My natural hair regimen has changed quite a bit in the last 2 months and I wanted to give you an update on it! First off, I started using the Denman brush again because my hair had been tangling too much. When I trimmed my ends on January 22nd, I had a crazy amount of single stand knots (SSKs), and I realized it was because I haven't been detangling my hair thoroughly. My wide-tooth comb alone just wasn't doing the job. I detangle with the Denman brush 2-3 times a week, especially before twisting my hair for a twist-out. Since I've been doing that, I've noticed that my hair is a lot healthier. The Denman brush also helps to smooth out my hair so my twist-outs look better and more defined. I purchased the Denman brush for about $15.00 from Sally's Beauty. The Denman contains about 7 rows of teeth. You can remove some of the rows of teeth if ...

My Summer to Fall Natural Hair Regimen

Happy Wednesday, my blessed naturals! It's been almost 3 months since my second Big Chop , and I wanted to give you all my summer into fall natural hair regimen for daily and weekly maintenance. The pictures in this post are of my hair after applying products to it. Daily 1. Spritz with water and apply coconut oil   - Because it's still hot in the south, I can sometimes go 2 or 3 days before I need to do this.   2. Fluff my hair out with my fingers- Sometimes, I use a wide tooth comb to lift my hair at the roots and get rid of the parts.   3. Sleep with a satin bonnet or pillow case   Weekly 1. Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse- I mix 1 part ACV mixed with 2 parts water to treat my seborrheic dermatitis. After spraying the mixture on my scalp, I let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes, I will use a plastic cap. Then, I rinse it out and shampoo my hair.    2. Wash with any shampoo I have available - This usually includes a type...

My Winter Natural Hair Regimen for 2016

1BlssedNatural: My Winter Natural Hair Regimen for 2016 Hey my blessed naturals! I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! For love day, I wore my hair in a stretched 'fro with a bang. During the week, I pretty much wear my hair in a bun or puff with flat twists in the front. The weekends is when I let my 'fro be free lol. I still use all the same products for the most part. Here is a list of my natural hair products and regimen: 1. 100% Coconut Oil - applied 3 or 4 times a week 2. Aunt Jackie's Detangler - once a week after washing 3. Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion - applied 2-3 times a week* 4.  ACV rins e every week to treat my seborrheic dermatitis 5. Shampoo: Since I ran out of the Aunt Jackie's "Oh So Clean " shampoo, I just use whatever I have available until it runs out. I'm now using the Alvalon Organics Strengthening Peppermint shampoo. 6. Conditioner: Suave Shea Butter and Almond - I love this conditioner because it's ...

My New Winter Natural Hair Regimen

1BlessedNatural: My New Winter Natural Hair Regimen Happy MLK Day, my blessed naturals, I hope you are all having a great week. I've made some changes to my winter natural hair regimen. My regimen is as follows: Daily   I've been keeping my hair in Bantu knots since the week before last. I moisturize and seal my hair every few days with Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion or water and Coconut Oil. I love the knots because I do not need to moisturize and seal my hair every day. I can also take them out for a Bantu knot- out. If my hair is loose, I will moisturize and seal my hair once in the morning and once at night. Sometimes, I finger detangle my hair to remove all of the shed hair. This is important especially when you are handling fine natural hair because the shed hair can get tangled around the healthy strands. Weekly: Wash Days 1. Sections: I wash my hair in 4 sections. The sections make it easier to handle my hair.  2. Apple Cider Vinegar rinse: I s...
