The title went to Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, and the runner-up was Miss Columbia Laura Gonzalez. Even though Bennett came in at number 3, her presence represented more than the beauty of natural hair and dark skin. She is also a voice for deaf people. Earlier this year, the Jamaican model started the Davina Bennett Foundation, a non-profit organization to help provide opportunities for deaf people. "The Davina Bennett Foundation for the deaf intends to transform how deaf individuals are perceived into the society, " Bennett said on social media.
