Crochet braids consist of your own hair being cornrowed (usually straight back) and then extensions are added to it using a latch hook. This is a great protective style and alternative for anyone who does not want to wear wigs, sewn-in weaves, or braid/twist extensions. Because the hair extensions are latched onto your cornrows, crochet braids allow your scalp to breathe.
