1BN Kids: Twists with Flat Twists and a Curl Hey, my blessed naturals! Little Sister Natural is back with a new natural style! After her hair wash washed and conditioned, her mom parted it from ear to ear. The top half was split into two big sections. Each section was two-strand twisted and then twisted into one. The bottom half of her hair was put into three big flat twists. Her mom put one finger coil near her edges. Like auntie , like niece! LOL. You can see the top part of her twists are thick. 1BlessedNatural: Teyana Taylor Slays Braided Bantu Knots (photo cred: Teyana Taylor/Instagram) Singer and actress Teyana Taylor slays in a picture she posted on Instagram yesterday of her rocking braided Bantu knots and a dashiki dress. Her Bantu knots were a mixture of grey and black hair. She was also rocking gold rope earrings, ripped burgundy tights, and a choker. The 25-year-old is known for different hairstyles that span from straight to big and curly textured styles. Two weeks ago, Teyana Taylor appeared on BET's Hip Hop Honors award show. She dressed up as Lil Kim and performed the rapper's songs alongside fellow rapper, Lil Mama. Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa and Missy Elliot were also honored at the award show. Last night, Season 2/Episode 2 (The New Sheriff in Town) of Cutting It in the ATL played out on WE tv . After last week's episode of pettiness, I was unsure if I was going to continue to watch the show. This week, things got a little better as far as the business aspect is concerned, but there was still some drama of course! It was a definite déjà vu from last season . 1BN's Thoughts: Messy! The episode starts off with Dedra going to meet Jazzy McBee's at a radio station and giving her a fake apology for bringing the drama to her hair show on the last episode. 1BlessedNatural: 3 Mississippi Students Give Out #FreeHugs to Spread Message of Love Madison, Mississippi - Yesterday, three Black students from Jackson, Mississippi decided to spread the message of love and unity by offering free hugs outside of Walmart in Madison. They included 25-year-old college student Jessica Bracey, 24-year-old grad school student India Tate, and 15-year-old high school student Brandon Bracey. The students up with messages like, "Free Hugs" and "If Your [sic] Not Afraid....May I Have A Hug?" The signs also contained hashtags like "#MSUNITY","#NO2RACISM", "#BlackLivesMatter", "#StoptheViolence", "#AllLivesMatter", and "#Praying4Dallas." 1BlessedNatural: What It's Like After Big Chopping for the Second Time Hey, my blessed naturals, I hope you are all having a great 4th of July weekend! It's been 3 weeks since my second Big Chop , and it feels great! I enjoy having a short hair care regimen. Sometimes, I do miss my hair, because I'm so used to having it. The one question I've gotten a lot is what will I do differently, and the answer is plenty! Most of these things are covered in the 6 Mistakes I Made as a New Natural article. The main thing is that I now know what products work well for my hair, so I will not be so much of a product junky this time around. I stick to my same shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, and oil. Also, there is not as much anxiousness about my natural hair, because I know what to expect. Through my first Big Chop, I learned how to retain the length of my hair. I know how my hair looks long, short, curly, and straight. I know what happens to it when I use cert...
