1BlessedNatural - Mini Twits: Two Weeks Later Happy Thursday, my blessed naturals! Tomorrow will make two weeks since I mini twisted my hair. I’ve been spritzing my twists with water daily. Today, I took them out, but I didn't feel like it lol. Don’t you wish you could just snap your fingers and your hair could unravel just like that? Ha! My scalp was screaming out for an ACV rinse lol. I could have done one and washed my hair while it was twisted, but I kind of missed my hair. Even still, I got used to the low maintenance of the mini twists. 1BlessedNatural: 6 Mistakes I Made as a New Natural Hey, my blessed naturals, It’s been over 5 years since my Big Chop . Even though, my natural hair is healthy now, I made a lot of mistakes with it along the way. Here are 6 of them: 1. Applied oil to my hair before applying a moisturizer... When I first starting using oils and butters on my hair, I would apply them before the moisturizer and then wonder why my hair was so dry. Oils and butters are used for sealing. You can wet your hair and then apply the oils to seal in the moisture. This method prevents the moisture from evaporating quickly. 2. Flat ironed my roots while I was transitioning... During the month before I did my Big Chop I visited a salon to get my hair blown out and flat ironed. Big mistake! This resulted in heat damage. 1BN Kids Video: 5- Year Old Little Sister Natural Takes Out Her Own Braids Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals! This weekend, Little Sister Natural took out her own braids for the first time. We were super proud of her because she took the initiative to do it herself.  I also have to add, she’s only 5 years old, and I’m a proud auntie! Lol. We all agreed that it was time for her to start learning how to do her own, because it’s a scream and cry fest when her mom does it (see meme below). This last time, it took LSN’s dad holding the top section of hair while her mom brushed it to get it done. Below is her first YouTube video taking out her big cornrows and talking about her experience. The self-proclaimed "Queen Bee" burst on the scene in the mid 90s as one of the hottest female rappers. She was beautiful with her heart-shaped face, but there was something that happened as time went on. In the late 90s to early 2000s she began getting plastic surgery on her face, and now she is almost unrecognizable. One of the most noticeable changes is her skin, which is several shades lighter. There's some debate about whether it is makeup, airbrushing, or skin bleaching. It's left a lot of people asking what happened to Lil Kim's face. I think her change is a mixture of people's opinions and a little of what she thinks she should look like.

1BlessedNatural- Natural Hair Update: Mini Twists, Trim, and Pin Curl Out  Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals! I hope you all are having a great week! This past Friday, I washed, deep conditioned, and mini-twisted my hair to trim it. I probably should have done it two weeks ago, but I was being lazy. Two nights ago, I applied a small amount of aloe vera gel to medium-size sections of my hair, two-strand twisted, and pin curled it. In the morning, I unraveled them for some curly twists. 1BN Kids: Little Sister Natural's Big Cornrows with Flower Headband Happy Monday, my blessed naturals! Little Sister Natural is rocking four big cornrows (no hair added) this week. Saturday, her and Big Sister Natural got their hair done. LSN's hair was done with four big braids going straight back and two small cornrows going around her edges into the middle braid. I like the fact that the middle section is divided into two braids--one at the top and one at the bottom, because it's different. Little Sister Natural's mom added a flower headband for decoration. Her and Big Sister Natural went to go see The Jungle Book , and they loved it! I also thought it was a good movie!   Are you going to try this style on your little one?
