Happy Wednesday, my blessed naturals, In January, I told you all about some hair accessories that my sister gave me. Today, I wore one of the black barrettes. The only problem I had was that they blended in with the color of my hair.. So, I decided to add a little color to the barrettes by applying nail polish. It's a simple, cute, and quick fix. Items Needed 1. Your preferred hair accessory: clip or barrette 2. Your favorite color of nail polish 3. paper towel 4. disposable face mask (optional)- I like to use a face mask whenever I use nail polish to prevent breathing the fumes. 1. Pick your favorite color and began applying the nail polish to the surface of your accessory.   2. When you have applied the desired amount of nail polish to your barrette, let it dry. Hey my blessed naturals! Here are pictures of my mini two-strand twist, pin curl out . After removing the bands in my hair, I applied the Curls Unleashed "No Boundaries" Leave-In Conditioner, Cantu's Creamy Hair Lotion , and Coconut Oil. I used a rat tail comb to smooth my hair before twisting. It helps to give my twists a neat appearance. It took me 2 days to install the them because I took A LOT of breaks, lol. After finishing my twists, I applied more of the Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion and Coconut Oil and pin-curled my twists for overnight. In the morning, I removed the pin curls and added a couple of hair pins for styling. My hair came out as curly as it would've I had done a rod set .    Happy Monday, my blessed naturals! Yesterday, I told you all that I was going to band and twist my hair. Today, I wanted to show you all the latest pictures of my hair banded . Banding is a great way to stretch your natural hair without using heat. I use two different types of bands (ponytail holders). Sometimes, I use the thin bands (without the metal section). I'm not a big fan of using them because the rubber band snaps or loses its elasticity after a few uses. They also get stuck in my hair. I prefer to use the small stretchy fabric bands ( in the picture). They last longer than the thin ones. Plus, I'm able to stretch my hair a little more with out the band pulling my hair  too much at the root. They're also easy to remove.  If you plan to use the thick bands and are worried about them damaging your hair by pulling, drying, or rubbing your hair out, try soaking them in Olive Oil before using them. I know some of you have been wondering what is going on with my hair. The truth is that not much is going on, lol. I haven't really been styling my hair in any fancy styles. I've only been rocking my hair in my usual puff and flat twist hairstyle. My hair has been frizzy also. I've noticed that when I wear my hair in a puff hairstyle for a long period of time and I only use my hands to neaten the puff, my hair starts to look frizzy if I keep the style in for too many days at a time. Big Sister Natural's cornrow headband style Happy Monday, my blessed naturals! I hope you all are having a great morning. I'm thankful God woke me up today! The style features two interlocked cornrows at the front of her head and two medium sized cornrows. The cornrows are braided around her ears and towards the back of her neck where they hang, hidden by all of her free flowing hair.   Happy Good Friday, my blessed naturals! Earlier this week, I took a trip to Best Buy in Madison, Mississippi because I needed to buy a new laptop. There, I met Healthy Hair Stylist, Allison White. When Ms. White asked me what was the purpose of me buying a new laptop, I told her I was a natural hair blogger. She stood quietly with a smile on her face while I explained my site. After pulling up my blog on a demo laptop, she told me she had been a Healthy Hair Stylist for several years.  Also, she had been natural for 8 years. I know that was no coincidence (smile).  Ms. White's hair was straight, shiny, thick, and past her shoulders. The stylist explained that she had straightened her hair all her life. Hey, my blessed naturals! It's been almost 1 year since I've given you all an update on C's natural hair . Last May, she removed her wig and rocked natural hairstyles. Although she had Traction Alopecia along her edges, she was determined to move past it. When we did her last length check , C's hair was about 1 inch away from bra strap length. Sadly, C. has lost about 1 1/2 inches in length since that time. Her hair is still long though.
