1BlessedNatural: Rubber Band Twists with Maryley Hair  Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals! I hope you're having a great day. Last night, I did some rubber band twists using Marley hair. It took me about 3 hours. I used a little bit of Eco Style gel at the base of the hair to smooth the hair a bit. This style was done on freshly washed hair. I plan to keep it in for 1-2 weeks. I used the 3X Expression Carribean Braid Hair from last time . 1BN, do you have any tips for doing this style? If you're going to do this style, I would suggest prepping the hair ahead of time. My hair prep usually starts when I am taking the previous style out. I use 4 sections of hair and I put a rubber band in the middle of it. 1BlessedNatural:Drawstring Ponytail Advertised a a "Clip-On Hair Bun"? I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline and ran across a video for what looked like a man bun. It was a demonstration of a guy attaching a drawstring ponytail to his hair with the normal comb attachment and string. So, I'm watching this video and thinking to myself, "Isn't that a drawstring ponytail ?" So, you know what we all do when we watch videos... I checked the comments and saw someone who said the exact same thing I was thinking! Here's the comment from the Facebook user: "First of all, it's called a draw-string ponytail and is NOT a new fad! The "Nappily Ever After" Trailer is Finally Here! (photo cred: Netflix/Imdb.com) The long-awaited trailer for the Netflix film  Nappily Ever After was recently released and social media is raving about it. I can't wait to see the movie either! Sanaa Lathan, who plays the character Violet in the movie had made some drastic hair changes over the last year for this role, including big chopping. She is now sporting a beautiful TWA! My favorite part of the trailer is when the little girl says, "My dad won't let me perm my hair." Then, Violet says, "You don't need to do that!" Seborrheic Dermatitis: ACV Rinses and Co-Washing Between Washes Happy Sunday, my blessed naturals, A couple of weeks ago, I made the decision to go back to co-washing my hair. This summer has been brutal on my scalp because of my seborrheic dermatitis. I know some of you might be saying, "I thought the apple cider vinegar rinses worked for you."  Well, they do! My problem was that my hair was drying out due to washing it twice a week. This is in addition to doing ACV rinses, which keeps my scalp from itching. I wash my hair every two weeks. If I sweat a lot or think my hair needs a wash, I will do an ACV rinse and co-wash it in between. Co-washing (washing my hair using conditioner)  ensures I maintain the moisture. In the past, my only concern was I felt like my scalp wasn't getting clean enough. Now, I usually don't do it too many days after the regular shampooing.
