Growing Your Edges Back

I naturally have an uneven hairline, but the hair that was lost has grown back in. Picture taken August 2011 after removing micro braids. My edges were gone. I have noticed that many of you are interested in my posts about growing your edges back. In August of 2011, I had micro braids installed, and they pulled out all of my edges . The best advice that I can provide for growing your edges back is to leave your edges alone. Try styles that do not place stress on your hairline. Avoid things like headbands that will put stress on your hairline. Using headbands are fine sometimes, but you need to give your hairline a break. Sometimes, when I use the Banding Method, I will flat twist the hair around my hair line or pin the hair back. Also, you should moisturize and seal your edges. I have also had blessings with mini two-strand twists. They do not put much stress on my edges. If my edges have come out, I will usually do the no-tension-on-my-hairline method, and I see a diffe...

Day 3 with Mini Two-Strand Twists!

This picture was taken on Wednesday. I have been wrapping my twists at night . It has kept them stretched. I love wearing headbands with them :-)

Jojoba/Tea Tree Oil Pre-poo and Two Strand Twists

Last week, I applied Tea Tree Oil (for my dandruff) and Jojoba Oil to my hair as a pre-poo. I wore a plastic cap for about 20 minutes before shampooing my hair. This wash day was the first time that I tried removing shed hair with my fingers, while my hair was dry.  I used a dandruff shampoo and regular shampoo to cleanse my hair and scalp lol. For some reason, my scalp does not get clean easily, especially after adding a conditioner. I also have to be sure that I rub my edges with the shampoo. If not, I will end up with build-up after shampooing my hair. After applying Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion, I banded my hair on the first day. The next day, I installed two-strand twists.

Removing Teeth from the Gabriela and Denman Brushes

Happy Friday everyone, Recently, I saw a YouTube video by Vivacious1083 about removing rows of teeth from the Denman or Gabriela brush. I love the way the brush detangles my hair, but I also felt like it pulled my hair too much. So, removing the rows was a great idea!

Sunday Hair: Flat Twist Bang With Puff

Happy Sunday everyone! I feel like I haven't been on here in a long time. I've had some trials but God will get the glory! Pray for me everyone :-) Since I washed my hair last week, I have been wearing my hair in a puff with a flat twist bang. I did my twists on dry hair after applying my Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion and Coconut Oil. I parted the bang sections at a slant. Because I parted small sections, I was surprised that my twists puffed up by the next day.

Church Hair: Bantu Knot, Twist Out with Bang

Happy Sunday everyone! On Friday, I couldn't take it any longer, so I washed my hair. It didn't take me as long as usual. It took me about 2 hours. I washed my hair in 4 sections and applied conditioner to each section. I tried finger detangling my hair only. The process went smoothly. Saturday I wore my hair in a twist out, but my afro was not stretched enough to my liking. Last night, I put m hair in 8 sections, two strand twisted, and bantu-knotted them.  This morning I attempted another bang style with a regular plastic headband, and I was pleased :-) I had been thinking about flat ironing my hair, but I was too chicken to go through with it lol. I'm not about to be dealing with heat damage. I've dealt with that before . The Mini- Twist Style Challenge was fun because I was able to really challenge and push myself to work with my hair. I didn't like the last bang style too much, but I like the one in the picture above :-) God is good. Also, October 3rd...

Mini Twists Style Challenge: Twist Out in Headband with Bang (# 7)

Yesterday, I wore my mini twist, twist out (puff) in a headband with a bang. I wasn't too thrilled with the way it looked on me, but I was happy to try something new.  I really like playing around with the bang. Next time, I may just two strand twist it. I can't wait to wash my hair! lol

Mini Twists Style Challenge: Twist Out after Pineapples (# 6)

This morning I took out the pineapples , and my curls were still in tact! Yay! I will be doing the pineapples again tonight. I actually found another twist in my hair lol. I'm glad that I didn't try and detangle it. I applied Coconut Oil to my hair and fluffed out my curly fro...

Pineapple Method with Twist Out

I parted my hair into sections and applied Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion and Coconut Oil to each section. I used small hair bands to band my hair for the Pineapple Method to maintain my twist out through the night.

Mini Twists Style Challenge: Plain Twist Out

Happy Monday! Today I applied Coconut Oil to my twists and carefully unraveled them. This time my hair did not get into knots. major shrinkage
