  I have been hearing a lot of things about using yogurt as a conditioner. Because it contains protein, it can be good for your hair. Many people create hair masks using yogurt recipes that contain other ingredients like honey and eggs. I decided (at the last minute) to use yogurt on my hair, after washing my hair and applying the Suave Tropical Conditioner to my medium-sized twists. I took handfuls and smoothed my hands down my twists. Then I put on a conditioning cap and sat under the heating cap for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, I rinsed the conditioner yogurt out of my hair. My hair came out really soft and manageable.  If you are planning to try using yogurt the same way I did, be sure to use a t-shirt and squeeze most of the water out of your hair before applying the yogurt. Last night, I co-washed my two-stand twists . I usually band and/or braid my twists to not disturb them too much during the wash process, but I was being lazy. As a result, my twists were very frizzy after I washed them. The fact that they were not small, didn't help either. This morning, I did some grabbing, twisting, and pinning of some sections, lol. When in doubt and out of time, do an updo! lol The style didn't look too hot, but I had to rock it anyway :-). What quick styles have you created?

Several media outlets have reported that the girl in the video's name is Janiyah Rush, who was said to be near the school on that day in June. Hey everyone! This weekend I shampooed and deep conditioned my hair. I haven't "shampooed" my hair in weeks because it dries my hair out. I ran out of my Castille Soap mixture , and figured I was due for a good wash to remove the product build-up on my strands. This time, I mixed Olive Oil with my shampoo. As a result, my hair didn't dry out during the process, and my scalp wasn't itchy. After applying my conditioner, I applied plain white yogurt to my hair and twisted it up. I left the conditioner and yogurt in my hair for about 15 minutes while sitting under a heating cap.  (I will be doing an article on using yogurt as a conditioner.) Afterwards, I rinsed it out. I haven't trimmed my hair since January , after experiencing heat damage . Since then, I have learned that the key to healthy hair and length retention is to keep my hair moisturized, especially the ends. As a result, my ends haven't needed to be trimmed... until now! The back of my banded hairstyle. Happy Wednesday everyone! I've done several posts about banding my hair to stretch it without heat. If you've read some of my previous posts, you may have read that I often band my hair at bedtime and remove the bands in the morning. The other night, I wondered about keeping the bands in my hair. So, I created a style where I could band the back section of my hair and keep it for a style.  Talk about shrinkage! 1. I parted a small side part in the bang section of my hair, creating two rectangular sections from the bang down to each ear.  2. I flat twisted the front section, and then pinned (with hair pins) the twists into little rolls.   3.After banding the back section, I put the two sections together (crossing each other), and then I secured the sections with hair pins.  4. I banded my hair to stretch it the night before. In the moving, I removed the bands and put a part in the front. I hope everyone had a great day! Today, I just wanted to deliver a simple message... We all go through trials and tribulations in life, but please remember that YOU are still BLESSED! Genesis 22:18 says, "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed: because thou hast obeyed my voice." If you have breath in your body, you are still blessed. There is still a chance for the Lord to change your life and/or your circumstance. It does not matter how big or small.    It has been less than 24 hours since the George Zimmerman verdict was read, and much of the nation is still in shock. Not Guilty? Until recently, I was also at a loss for words. When I first heard the verdict, my heart became very heavy. I wondered what kind of justice system would sentence a woman to 20 years in prison for firing warning shots, but let a man go free for killing a child. CBS News reported that Marissa Alexander was sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing warning shots to defend herself against her alleged abusive husband. The Alexander and Martin case were both in Florida. Last night, after the verdict was read, I logged onto Twitter to see some of the responses. There were responses of sadness, outrage, and unrest. Last time, I showed you all my puff with the turquoise flower . I decided to try transforming the style into a more formal updo.  1.Put your hair in a puff.  2. Grab medium-sized sections of hair inside the puff. Optional: Moisturize and seal(with an oil) each section. 3. Two-strand twist each section. 5. Roll the twist up towards the middle of the puff. Use hair pins to keep the twist in place.   6. When you are finished, you should have a small, open space in the middle of the rolled twists.  You can add a flower clip or any hair accessory you'd like :-) This style is great to wear for the office, weddings, or any other formal occasion/place. For weddings, you can add pearled hair pins to the twists themselves. What updo styles do you like to wear?
