1BlessedNatural: Apple Cider Vinegar for Wig and Weave Extension Tangles Updated: 4/26/2017 - Synthetic Hair and ACV experiment results here ! Hey, my blessed naturals! My sister "C" is still using wigs as her protective style, and she makes her own units. Two weeks ago, I suggested that she do an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse for the tangles in her human hair wigs and  extensions. She wanted me to tell you all that she loves it! Here's how she conditions her wigs: How to Condition (Human Hair) Wigs/Extensions and Conditions for Less Tangles 1. Soak wig in bowl of ACV and water for 2-3 hours.  2. Rinse ACV out of wigs/extensions with water 3. Co-wash hair.  4. Let hair air dry. C said she like her curls parted on the side and hanging down. Hey, my blessed naturals! Back in April , I told you all that my sister, C's hair broke off since wearing her natural hair out. Her plan was to wear wigs for 6 months to give her hair a rest and retain more length. She has kept her natural hair in a beehive cornrow underneath her wigs, and I'm happy to report that her hair is back to being healthy, and her curls are poppin'! The main issue C has with her hair is that she think it's too fine and thin (partly due to Traction Alopecia ). However, I think she still has a nice amount of hair. After washing and conditioning her hair, she parted it on the side and let her curls hang. C said she really likes her new style. Biya was in attendance with several other African leaders including her husband and President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, President Barack Obama, and First Lady Michelle Obama. Mrs. Biya stood out with her copper red wigs in big curls and waves. She wore a few different styles. Most of them were cut into a short and fluffed style at the top with long hair at the bottom. Hey, my blessed naturals! It's been almost 1 year since I've given you all an update on C's natural hair . Last May, she removed her wig and rocked natural hairstyles. Although she had Traction Alopecia along her edges, she was determined to move past it. When we did her last length check , C's hair was about 1 inch away from bra strap length. Sadly, C. has lost about 1 1/2 inches in length since that time. Her hair is still long though. She has flat ironed her hair 3 times in the 3 years she has been natural. C believes her hair breakage is due to over manipulation, especially the "hand in hair" syndrome. Whether you're a newbie in search of tips and product suggestions or a natural vet simply needing encouragement , there are a number of forums and blogs available at your fingertips. However, there are times when that same love can seem to turn to pure hate.       I have been natural for about 5 years and I have grown to absolutely ADORE my natural hair. In fact, it was not until I embarked upon this natural journey that I actually embraced the idea of liking the hair that was growing out of my own head. I am in a much better place today in terms of the health of my hair and my self-image, compared to where I was as a teenager. However, I have encountered a period where I've simply become bored with my hair. The same old twist out styles and high  puffs just haven't been doing it...

The Free Dictionary defines Traction Alopecia as "loss of hair due to from prolonged pulling on the hair, usually associated with certain hairstyles or a habit of twisting the hair". My sister "C" and I have both experienced Traction Alopecia from tight braids , but my sister's condition hasn't improved. We both went natural about 2 years ago. C wore tight micro braids. Two braids snatched out her edges on both sides of her hair. Afterwards, she wore wigs during and after her transition period. She has tried massaging the bald areas, but hasn't had any success in growing her hair back in those areas. In February, my sister surprised me with pictures of her  flat ironed natural hair.
