1BlessedNatural: Dreamworks Introduces Natural Hair Character  in "Home"Movie On March 27th, DreamWorks Animation's new 3-D animated movie, HOME featuring a cute and curly haired Black teen named Tip will hit theaters. Tip encounters a little clumsy alien named "Oh" (Jim Parsons) from another planet. The two go on a fantastic journey which teaches the lesson that no one is perfect. Tip's voice is played by singer Rihanna. When I first saw the trailer for the movie, I thought it was nice to see a character who looked like a normal teen rocking her natural hair.   There are some great close-up texture shots of her hair in the movie! Yesterday, Dove Hair launched the "Love Your Curls" campaign that featured a commercial that will make your heart melt! The commercial begins with heartbreaking interviews with 5 little girls who have kinky and curly hair. The little girls, ages 5-11 state that they do not like their hair because they think straight hair is better. Through my 3-year natural hair journey, I've heard a lot of things about Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) being beneficial for natural hair. Some of the things include it being a great frizz controller and conditioner, but I've never tried it until now.  Many of you may be aware that I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis. Although I've had the condition for my whole life, my scalp itchiness and irritation have gotten worse within the last 2 years. I've been using a prescription shampoo and oil to control it. Tonight, I retwisted my sister, C's hair.First, I spritzed the hair with water and applied Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie.Then, I sealed her hair with Coconut Oil. Her hair is very soft and curly. C is shocked her hair is as long as it is lol. Job well done, lady!
