Twist-Out on Braid-Out Hairstyle

1BlessedNatural: Twist-Out on Braid-Out Hairstyle Hey, my blessed naturals,  Monday night, I did medium, pin curl   two-strand twists on my braid-out hair . I used Aunt Jackie's Curl La La and coconut oil. This morning, I unraveled them. Because I had some Zum Grapefruit Oil by Indigo Wild available, I applied that to my fingers beforehand. I love the smell of it! The bottle says it's Shea Butter Massage and Body Oil, but it works fine on my hair. After removing my twists, I fluffed my hair out and added a headband. The results included a well defined twist-out! 1BlessedNatural: front view of twist-out on braid-out hairstyle 1BlessedNatural: side of twist-out on braid-out hairstyle 1BlessedNatural: back of twist-out on braid-out hairstyle  Do you wear twist-outs?    Related Articles: Chunky Twist-Out with Bang                ...

Wash Day Twist-Out

1BlessedNatural: Wash Day Twist-Out Happy Monday, everyone! Today, I plan to wash my hair. So, I decided to take a few pictures of my twist-out beforehand. Flat twists were in the front and 4 two-strand pin curls in the back. Also, my eyebrows aren't done, so please ignore those lol. What natural hairstyle are you wearing today? Chunky Flat Twists and Twist-Out

Hey, my blessed naturals, If you read my last article , then you know I removed my braids. My hair was much thicker than a month ago when I first installed the braids. Also, I did not suffer any damage to my edges because I didn't braid my hair tight. Thank God, lol. Before my braids, I thought about doing a flat twist-out. So, I decided to do one while trying the Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner . I parted my hair down the middle and then created about seven chunky flat twists. The ends were rolled up underneath the twists and pinned. I kept them in overnight and removed them in the morning. When was the last time you did a twist-out? Rainy Day Twist-Out and Braided Extensions Talk

Rain Day Twist-Out Happy Wednesday, my blessed naturals! Yesterday morning, my hair was in a defined twist-out, but when I cam home it was in a poofy one lol. I was thinking about getting extensions to give my hair a rest. Last week, I bought a few packs of 100% Kanekalon synthetic braiding hair to do single braid extensions. I've done extensions on other people's hair, but I've never done it on my own hair. So, I decided to practice doing a couple on my hair. My results are below. I plan to do my whole head when I have some time. I thought about going to a braid shop, but I'm not in the mood to have someone yanking and combing through my hair like they don't have any sense, lol. The last experience  was more than enough aggravation. I've noticed that my scalp is a bit more sensitive since I've gone natural. I guess it's because my process of combing and handling my hair is not painful, so my scalp has been in chill mode lol. I will...

Preparing My Hair for Nightly Twists for Twist-Out

Happy Friday everyone, Thank God that we made it through the week. It is only by Him that I made it through today! In hair related news, I recently bought a 3-pack of travel size bottles from DEALS discount store. I think I paid a little over $1.00 for them. The package contained 1 small spray bottle and 2 push-cap tops. I've been doing twist outs daily, all week long and concentrating on keeping my ends moisturized. Things Needed for My Nightly Twists 1. Cantu Coconut Curling Cream 2. Small spray bottle-with water -I love the small spray bottles because you can mist your hair instead of getting water all over everything 3. Small push-cap bottle with Coconut Oil 4. Bobby pins Hair Preparation (* special attention to the ends) 1. I finger part my hair into medium sized sections 2. Grab one section and spritz it with water a few times* 3. Finger detangle the section gently  4. Apply an index finger full of the Cantu Coconut Curling Cre...

Hair Update: Twist-Out with Bang

Hi everyone! This weekend, I took out my mini two-strand twists. I must say... I really missed my hair lol :-)

Careless Natural Hair Week

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a good week. If not, I pray that it gets better. This week, I was sick. But, thank God that I am feeling much better. I shouldn't be, but Isaiah 53:5 says that I am healed! In hair related news, this was a three-day old twist out. I went to sleep with my hair this way and fluffed it out in the morn. This week has been a careless hair week. I wore hats and old twist-outs for the most part. Since I cut my hair, it has kept the definition of my twist-outs longer than normal. Did you have a careless hair day this week?

More of My Twist-Out Pictures

Happy Tuesday! I have been applying nothing but Grape Seed Oil to my hair every night for the past week 1/2. I sleep with a satin bonnet, wake up, fluff, headband (or not), and go!

Another Mini-Two Strand Twist-Out on Day 27

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are doing well. I am recovering from a cold, and thank God because I hate feeling sick. In hair related news, I took out my twists this morning and retwisted my hair. I'm glad to see that this blog not only helps others, but it helps me remember my routines lol. I really thought that I had made it to the 1 month mark with my twists, but this blog says it is 5 days shy of a month womp womp lol...Here is a twist-out. I will be posting pics of my new two strands soon. Oh yeah, yesterday marked my 11 month natural hair anniversary! Yayy! God is good.
