Dear 1BlessedNatural, What Can I Expect After I Big Chop?

1BlessedNatural: What Can I Expect After I Big Chop? Question: Dear 1BlessedNatural,                  I am thinking about doing my Big Chop. What can I expect afterwards? Answer: Dear Soon 2 Big Chop, After doing your Big Chop, you can expect your natural hair to feel dry. If you are going from relaxed to natural hair, you might notice the dryness a bit more. I would suggest finding a good moisturizer and sealer (oil or butter) to remedy the problem. Some good moisturizers are Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Creamy Hair Lotion, 12 Ounce , Curls Cream Brule, 8 Ounce , and Aunt Jackie's Curl La La Defining Curl Custard 9 oz. Jar . If you would like to save money, I would suggest using water and olive oil. You can usually find olive oil in your kitchen. Remember to always moisturize your hair before applying the oil or butter. Please keep in mind that you may need to moisturize and seal ...

1 Week After My Big Chop: My Remedy for My Dryness

IC Hair Polisher Mist Spray Bottle Hey Everyone! The two items above are my hair's new best friends lol. After I shampooed my hair. I applied unrefined Shea Butter mixed with Castor Oil, to my hair and scalp. I poured a small amount of water mixed with castor oil into my spray bottle. I shook it up, sprayed it on my hair, and gently rubbed it in. In the morning I sprayed the IC Polisher mist all over my hair. It has helped to keep my hair moisturized and shiny! Yayy for progress :-)

Co-Washing and Dryness After the Big Chop

Co-washing my hair My hair has been very dry since my big chop. The other day, I sprayed my hair with water and applied the Eco-Styler Olive Oil gel, but it ended up very flaky. I guess I should apply it right after I wash and condition my hair. First Co-Wash After My Big Chop I co-washed my hair with the VO5 Silky Experiences Conditioner. I applied Shea Butter (while my hair was wet) mixed with Castor Oil . Then I applied the Hollywood Olive Oil and Softee Coconut Oil. My hair was a little more moisturized, but is still dry. I have the Organic Root Stimulator Deep Replenishing Conditioner. I liked to use it when I was transitioning I think I will try that next time. Let me know if you have any suggestions for dryness after the big chop :-)

My Big Chop!

I f you read my last post, you could tell that I was thinking about doing my big chop. After work, I pulled out the scissors and started cutting my hair. I did not call anyone because I was afraid that they would try to talk me out of it. I was all ready with my butterfly clips to section my hair off and everything lol. I co-washed my hair with Vo5. But then, I started having second thoughts lol. I was like,"Oh my goodness, what if I don't look right?" Something inside of me said "So what!", and I started to forget about the sections. I figured if I started cutting in the front, then I couldn't turn back. So I kept going. It felt sooo good to know that I could let go of something that people often emphasize as being an important part of your being. "I am not my hair"- India. Arie I am a new natural!!! It feels great. My Big Chop is done! Here are my curls after the big chop. I had applied the Creme of Nature Leave-In-Conditioner. ...
