1BlessedNatural: Puff and Fro with Rubber Band Twist and Cornrow Headband Happy Sunday, my blessed naturals, A few days ago, I did small diagonal cornrows in the front of my head and twisted them to the ends. Then, I connected every two twists together using a rubber band to create a sort of headband. Bobby pins were used to tuck the hair under. I also added some loc jewelry . My edges look tight, but Eco Styler gel was used to smooth them. I slept with a scarf tied around my head overnight. The back section of hair was banded to stretch it out, and I wore it in a puff for the first day. The next day, I wore it in a 'fro. I ended up using a regular headband to keep my hair from flying all over the place LOL. 1BlessedNatural: Since I Missed My 'Fro Hey, my blessed naturals! I hope you are having a great week! Because my hair was in a protective style for the past 2 weeks, I missed my Afro lol. Last night, I took down my rubberband twist and cornrow updo style, and I decided to rock my fro for a couple of days before washing my hair. I used a satin scarf to tie around my head. Eco Styler gel and a toothbrush were used to smooth my edges. I didn't have to moisturize my hair either. 1BlessedNatural: Natural Hair and More at Oprah's The Life You Want Tour in NJ! This past Friday, September 26th, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Oprah's The Life You Want Tour, P&G Power Meet-up Breakfast at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The event was hosted by Charmin and featured HGTV host, entrepreneur, and real estate expert Egypt Sherrod. The panel also included 3 other entrepreneurs including  Jodi Allen, Sylvia High, and Karen Meleta who shared tips on how to maintain balance in a busy life. One of the first things I noticed when I first arrived to the breakfast was there were a lot of women rocking their natural hair! The breakfast was part of the O Town Experience which featured many activity tents centered around Oprah's The Life You Want Tour. Hair Update: Seborrheic Dermatitis, Hair Growth, etc. Hi, my blessed naturals! I hope you all are having a great Saturday. Last month, I told you I was using the Generic Brand for Derma-Smoothe/FS for Seborrheic Dermatitis. I also started Ciclopirox shampoo (by prescription) which is used to treat Seborrheic Dermatitis. Thank God, the oil and shampoo have greatly improved the condition of my scalp. It does not itch as much as it did before the treatments. I've been keeping my hair in the puff with front flat twists style . I washed my hair yesterday and banded it. This morning, I removed the bands and took the picture above. W hen we first met Ibtihaj , she had done her Big Chop 3 weeks prior . She 's just removed medium-size d, braided ex tension s. She kept th e extensions for about 1 1/2 months. Becau se she' d been taking hair vitamins, Ibtihaj's hair has grown 2 inches . She attempted to keep her extensions in for a full 2 months (as of June 17 th) , but she had to o much new growth .
