1BlessedNatural: My New Winter Natural Hair Regimen Happy MLK Day, my blessed naturals, I hope you are all having a great week. I've made some changes to my winter natural hair regimen. My regimen is as follows: Daily   I've been keeping my hair in Bantu knots since the week before last. I moisturize and seal my hair every few days with Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion or water and Coconut Oil. I love the knots because I do not need to moisturize and seal my hair every day. I can also take them out for a Bantu knot- out. If my hair is loose, I will moisturize and seal my hair once in the morning and once at night. Sometimes, I finger detangle my hair to remove all of the shed hair. This is important especially when you are handling fine natural hair because the shed hair can get tangled around the healthy strands. Weekly: Wash Days 1. Sections: I wash my hair in 4 sections. Location: Florida 1. What made you decide to go natural? I have two daughters, ages 2 and 4, who are obviously still natural. I made up in my mind that I will never relax their hair. I wanted them to stay natural until they decided to relax their own hair(which I hope is never!). That made me realize that I should set the example for them to love the hair that God gave them. This is actually my third time transitioning back to natural. The first two times I went back to relaxer within a few months. This time I transitioned for 7 months and then chopped all the relaxed ends off and haven't looked back! I wanted the long, thick, healthy hair I had in my childhood back and I am well on my way! 2. What were your friends and loved ones' reactions to your decision? My parents never liked for us to cut our hair! So when I told them I big chopped they were a little upset. My mother wanted me to transition longer. But they both have been supportive of my decision....

I have finally taken out my all of my mini braids . They were taken out slowly, over the past 3 days. After applying a moisturizer, I removed 3 or 4 braids (at a time) and detangled the section. Then, I twisted it. I used a hair pin to unravel the ends of some of the tiny braids. I enjoyed my style challenge , but I do not see myself doing mini braids anymore, this year lol. When I was taking the braids out, I had to be very careful to keep my ends from knotting during the removal process. I also have to be careful when removing mini two-strand twists. I kept the mini braids in for a total of 10 days. God willing, I will be doing more posts on new twists styles I've been experimenting with.
