After the Mini Braids

I have finally taken out my all of my mini braids . They were taken out slowly, over the past 3 days. After applying a moisturizer, I removed 3 or 4 braids (at a time) and detangled the section. Then, I twisted it. I used a hair pin to unravel the ends of some of the tiny braids. I enjoyed my style challenge , but I do not see myself doing mini braids anymore, this year lol. When I was taking the braids out, I had to be very careful to keep my ends from knotting during the removal process. I also have to be careful when removing mini two-strand twists. I kept the mini braids in for a total of 10 days. God willing, I will be doing more posts on new twists styles I've been experimenting with. How long does it usually take for you to remove your protective style?   *Don't forget to enter the E. Burgos Jewelry giveaway for your chance to be 1 of 3 Blessed winners who win a charm bracelet!

Mini Braids Style Challenge: Banana Clip with Bang Style #4

I'm still holding onto my braids, lol! Yesterday, I took the hair pins out of my hair and put my braids in a banana clip. Because the bang and side braids were shorter, they fell to the side. I pulled out some of the braids to make the sides more even. I've been spraying my hair with water and Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil every morning and night. I apply Shea Moisture Curly Enhancing Smoothie a few times a week. How long (at a time) do you keep your protective styles?

Mini Braids Style Challenge: Updo with Headband Style # 2

Happy Thursday everyone!  Yesterday, I said I was going to fore-go the headbands, but I ended up wearing one today lol. The good thing is the material of the headband is very soft, and it doesn't pull my edges. Last night, I applied Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie to my mini braids (no extensions) and installed Cold Wave Rod Curlers for a rod set.  This morning, I removed the rollers and pinned my hair up (using hair pins). The back didn't look too fancy lol, but it was fine for me. Before I did the updo, I tried to style my braids by leaving them a loose, but it was really not working lol. The braids still looked sparse. That's what happens when you install small braids in fine hair. I figured the curls would make a difference... Ha! I was wrong. It was a natural hair disaster, lol. So, I went along with updo! Thank God for hair pins! Have you ever had a natural hair disaster? What style did you try?

Mini Braids Style Challenge: Bun with Headband Style #1

This is the first style for my mini braids . Please excuse my crooked headband lol. I've been wearing the bun with headband style for the last couple of days, but I want to avoid breakage from the friction of the headband. It's time to find a new style! I use bobby pins to pin down the shorter braids in my bang area. Also, June 3, 2013 made 27 months that I've been natural :-) Thank God for the journey!
