Mini-Two Strand Twist and Wash 'N' Go

Even though, I've only had my mini twists in for a week, I decided to wash them. My intention was to do a mini-twist rod set, but I figured I'd show the wash 'n' go method for this blog. I used my Castile Soap mixture to cleanse my hair. I added about 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil to the mixture (by accident lol), but it worked.   First, I  banded my hair in about 7 sections and prepooed using Castor Oil. Afterwards I rinsed my hair and applied the Castile Soap mixture though my parts and massaged my scalp. Then, I deep conditioned my hair (using my conditioning cap). After washing the conditioner out, I applied a leave in conditioner and Castor Oil to each section and ran my fingers through the twists and let the hair hang lose. I usually apply a moisturizer on top of the leave in conditioner, but I forgot that part this time lol (oops!).  I really liked the shrinkage!

21 Months Natural Hair: Update

Happy Tuesday everyone, Yesterday was my 21 months hairanniversary! The funny thing is that I would probably have forgotten if it wasn't for Naturali-Chik posting hers lol. I haven't been posting much about my hair because I haven't been doing anything new. Yesterday, I washed, deep conditioned, and installed two-strand twisted pin curls. This morning I took them out for a twist out. But, the humidity made my little waves disappear lol. Yesterday, I was looking in my product collection for a shampoo and pulled out the Revitalizing Shampoo by Finesse. The bottle of shampoo is at least 6 years old lol. It was one of those products that you think is not for your hair after you buy it. This time I was wrong :-) It worked just fine. My hair was super dirty. As for the condition of my hair... It is pretty healthy, thank God. Two weeks ago I trimmed my ends while my hair was in mini twists. I only clipped about 1/4-1/2 inch off (which was not a lot).  I clip my ends every...

Overnight Maintenance for Two-Strand Twist Rod-Set

Happy Sunday everyone,  I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend :-) "This is the day that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it".- Psalm 118:24 If you have read my last post, then you know that I am currently rocking a two-strand twist rod set, and I love it! It is a great protective style. The weather has been rainy and humid all week. But, my hair still looks fine, thank God. I wear a hair net overnight. I still apply a moisturizer and oil to my hair at night and in the morning.  I can sleep on my curls without messing them up. If you are wearing a style that you do not want to mess up while sleeping, you should consider sleeping on a travel pillow.  Yes, a travel pillow! LOL. I read about this idea in another blog, and it works.

Mini-Twist, Retwist Update on Day 6

Happy Friday everyone! I have left my twists alone to do as they please... all except drying out lol. My twists have settled into a style that I like. They have become puffy from the shower steam. The twists in the front have settled into a little side bang. I still use my Vitamin Oil and Roots of Nature products. The picture below  is an example of what happens when you pull your hair to one side while twisting... lesson learned! lol  It's been 6 days since the retwist and I am getting antsy. So, I may take them out and rock a twist-out for a few days or not lol. We shall see!
