5 Ways to Make Your Natural Hair Products Last Longer

1BlessedNatural: 5 Ways to Make Your Natural Hair Products Last Longer One of the many misconceptions about having natural hair is you have to spend a lot of money on products, but the truth is you really do not have to do so. I have learned several ways of making my natural hair products stretch or last longer. Here are 5 tips that work for me: 1. Add water : If you have products like shampoos, moisturizers, and leave-in conditioners that are very rich or concentrated, you can try adding some water to them to make them stretch. Stir or shake them up. You can also try using water in place of a store bought moisturizer. 2. Add oil: You can also add oil to your water-based moisturizers and leave-in conditioners. This way, you can moisturize and seal all in one application. Before you mix an essential oil with any moisturizer, I would suggest testing the two products on a small portion of hair in the back of your head. Sometimes, natural hair products may not mix well with...

Natural Hair: Items to Pack for Vacation

Since the weather is finally breaking, many of you may be planning to go away on vacation. The question is what natural hair items do you pack? As a natural, you may be tempted to pack everything. So, I have some tips that may help you get your natural hair vacation bag together. Moisturizer and Sealant In order to determine the items you need for your hair during vacation, it's important to distinguish needs vs. wants. You can purchase the small water bottles at stores like Dealz for $1.00.   Shampoo & Conditioner (Optional) If you are planning to wash you hair during your vacation, grab your favorite cleanser, cond...

Attractive Words Used in Natural Hair Packaging

Hey my naturals! This week I bought the Au Naturale Creme Glaze by Dark & Lovely, but I haven't tried it yet. The label says that the product has Mango Oil and Bamboo Milk. Bamboo Milk??? I didn't know Bamboo plants contained milk lol. I did some research and found that bamboo extract (milk) is actually beneficial to hair. NaturalNews.com says, "Many people seek to improve the health of their hair, and bamboo extract can help many users reach that goal by keeping hair ducts clear." The article continues by saying that the extract can remove build up.  I will take Ella Joyce's advice on trying new products, by trying the product on a small section of hair. The "bamboo milk" idea caused me to start thinking about some of the words used by hair product makers to target those of us with natural hair. 1. Oil 2 Milk 3. Natural(all) 4. Butter Hair product companies will place any of the words listed above, on a product container to grab ou...
