Happy Wednesday everyone You all may know how much I struggle with dry scalp. Lately , it has been unbearable. I've found myself scratching my scalp so much that it has been scabbing over in places. Yesterday, I decided to go to the dermatologist, and she diagnosed me with Seborrheic Dermatitis. Seborrheic Dermatitis is a chronic scalp condition where your scalp overproduces oil (sebum), and becomes itchy, flaky, and red. The scales are often difficult to remove. This explains why I have a difficult time cleansing my scalp. My dermatologists stated that the condition is common, especially in African American women. She prescribed some medication in which I will need to incorporate into my hair care regimen. I will also see about continuing the use of th 100% Tea Tree oil.
