"Back to Healthy Eating" Challenge Part 4

an orange, cranberry, and blueberry salad I made. Hi everyone! During my last " Back to Healthy Eating " challenge update, I made you all aware that I began drinking a lot of Green Tea and eating dried cranberries. Also, I've still been checking my meals to be sure I am not consuming a large amount of unhealthy food. I am happy to report I have lost some weight! I have not checked the scale, but my clothes are fitting me looser than they were a month ago. If you read Part 1 of my " Back to Healthy Eating " challenge series, then you know my main goal was to develop a healthy eating lifestyle. I wanted to have more energy and feel healthy overall, but I am happy about the weight loss. I haven't been checking the scale because I'd rather judge by the way I feel. (smile) Thank God for healthy eating! How are you doing with your "Back to Healthy Eating" challenge?

"Back to Healthy Eating" Challenge: Update #3

Happy Thursday everyone! I can't believe it's been 3 days since my last regular post. I have been trying to juggle about 4 different things at one time. One of those things includes creating new products for my online greeting card shop, Ruthie's Greetings . I am also working on a new hair video to upload. God willing, I will get those done. Stay tuned :-)! As for my "Back to Healthy" eating challenge... I'm still on it! But, yesterday and today , I had a couple of not so "healthy" moments! Yikes! Meal Break Down Yesterday, my meals consisted of the following: Breakfast:   Bagel with butter, Coffee Coolatta from Dunkin Donuts Lunch: Pastrami and Cheese Sandwich on wheat bread with pickles and low fat snack with a soda Dinner: Baked Chicken and with a Strawberry and Cranberry salad and Green Tea The problems are with breakfast and lunch, lol. I could have gone without the butter. Coffee Coolattas tastes good, but they have a l...

"Back To Healthy Eating" Challenge Update

Strawberry and Blueberry salad made by me :-) Hey everyone! Last week in my article " Back to Nature, Back to Healthy Eating ", I told you all I made some changes in my eating habits. This included adding more fruits and vegetables to my diet, and drinking more water. I've also cut back on eating fast food. Thank God, I've been doing well on my challenge. I still have more energy than I had when I was eating a lot of fast food. Because I walk a lot, I didn't really need to change my exercise habits.  Instead of me going on a "diet", I aimed for a lifestyle change. I think when we go on diets, we're actually telling ourselves that it is a temporary change. When we get the results we are looking for (whether it's weight loss or becoming healthier) we will go back to some of the same eating habits. Many times, the commercial diets and supplements are often not lifestyles that we can maintain. I believe this is why a lot of people do not mai...

Back To Nature, Back to Healthy Eating

1BlessedNatural in Central Park. My hair is styled in two-strand twists . This weekend, I took a family trip to Central Park in the City, and I loved it! Sometimes, I forget how simple things like going to the park or other places in nature can be so relaxing :-) Note to self: slow down, girl! "And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. " - Genesis1:14 Lately, I've been eating a lot of fast food, and my body has paid the price in the form of a few extra pounds and exhaustion. This weekend, I've decided to throw more fruits and vegetables along with water into the mix of my diet. I've also started cooking more to avoid eating fast food. It's been 4 days and I already see a change in the way I feel. Another great thing is that a healthy diet promotes healthy hair! Thank God for healthy food! :-) Strawberry and Cucumber ...
