Natural hair updo adorned with Cowrie Shell. Hi everyone, I've been receiving some questions about how to put Cowrie Shells in your hair. Hopefully this post will help many of you with the accessory. ( Click here to jump to the video tutorial ). They are simple and cute accessories. Here are the items you will need: 1. Cowrie Shells 2. hair pins 3. snag-proof elastic bands Using Elastic Bands to Apply Cowrie Shell 1. Squeeze the elastic band between your thumb and index finger. 2. Loop one side of the elastic band through the middle of the shell. 3. Put your index finger through the two looped sides, and put shell on desired section of hair *This method is good if you want to put the Cowrie shells on locs.  Using Hair Pins to Apply Cowrie Shell 1.  Take 1 hair pin and put one prong through the middle of the shell. Two-strand twisted, beaded boby pin updo by 1 BlessedNatural Hi everyone, If you're looking for a quick and easy way to jazz up your natural hair style, try creating beaded bobby pins! Items Needed 1. hair beads 2. bobby or hair pins (black or brown)- I used brown pins, but black pins would work better. Directions 1.  Take your favorite color bead and loop it around onto the hair pin or bobby pin. I used the medium-sized hair beads, but you can use the small ones. Some of them can loop all the way around to the bend of the pin, making the pin easier to hide.  The beaded pins are great to accessorize your updos! Hey my naturals! It has been a week since I first installed my beaded mini-twists . I have enjoyed having the beads in, but I'm getting bored with them. Plus, I do not want to keep the elastic bands in my hair for a long time. My method of spraying my hair and beaded ends with water mixed with oil has kept my hair from drying out. After I remove the beads, I will be washing my twists and using Cold Wave/ Perm Rods to curl my hair. This time, I'm going to try using the Cantu Curl Activator to set my curls, instead of using the Motions Wrap lotion. What product do you use on your hair for your rod sets?

Hey everyone, In November, I did an afro style with beads. I've been wanting to do twists with beads, but I did not have patience until I saw MahoganyKnots' video " Beady Bead ". I jumped into the time machine and became a little girl again lol. Hair Preparation  I washed and deep conditioned my hair. Then, I applied Giovanni's Leave-In Conditioner , Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie , and Coconut Oil to my hair. After applying the products, I banded and two-strand twisted my hair.   Installing the Beads I purchased 4 packs of black, white, and clear beads . I also brought snag-proof elastic bands . Snag-proof elastic bands have a shiny coating as opposed to regular rubber bands that are dry. I purchased them from Dealz for $1.00 (500-pack). I used a bobby pin and the bead wan to install the beads. *WARNING*- Please check the beads for snags because they may break your hair. All edges should be smooth. It will save you the time and...

Beaded flat twist natural hairstyle Happy Saturday everyone! I have to say that God is good! I am blessed to be alive... I have been feel adventurous and wanting to put beads in my hair lol. I know... little girl status lol. Two weeks ago, I bought a pack of black, clear, and white beads from my local beauty supply store. I made diagonal flat twists in the front (bang) area of my hair.  Then I parted two vertical sections above my ear, and flat twisted them. Use a bobby pin to put the beads in your hair. Then, I hooked a small bobby pin to the middle of the twist and pulled it through the beads. Some bead packs come with a hook to help put them in your hair. Next, I took the end of the twists and pinned them to the top of my hair (not too tight). You can also flat twist you hair in an upward direction, instead of pinning them. The fro part of my hair had already been bantu-knotted, so I put on a headband and was good to go :-)
