"I Like/Love My Natural Hair Best When..."

1BlessedNatural: "I Like My Natural Hair Most When..." Happy Tuesday, my blessed naturals, Many of you may know my sister " C " is now rocking her natural hair for the summer time. She is getting back into her routine of moisturizing and sealing her hair daily. Every day or every other day, she twists and pins up her hair for twist-outs the next day. Two days ago, she told me she really likes her natural hair the best when her curls are defined. If you are just starting your hair journey or really starting to enjoy your hair, I want to stress the importance of finding a natural hair regimen . It can really make a difference in your attitude towards the maintenance of your hair. C says things are much easier now that she knows how to handle her natural hair. She doesn't mind setting aside the time to care for it. 1BlessedNatural: C's hair twisted and pinned up   When do you like/love your natural hair the most? Related Articles: After ...

Heat, Humidity, Twists, and Twist-Outs

1BlessedNatural: Heat, Humidity, Twists, and Twist-Outs Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals! This week, I've been wearing medium-size twists and twist-outs. I twisted my hair using water (spritz), Cantu Creamy Hair Lotion , and coconut oil (as my sealer) on Wednesday night. Since the weather has been in the 80s and humid, my hair's been staying moisturized longer. I love it! The high humidity also means more shrinkage. Womp, womp lol, but it's all good. Today, my twists were removed for a twist-out, and my hair was still moisturized. When I re-twist tonight, I will probably just use water and coconut oil.    How's the weather been treating your natural hair?  Related Articles: Twist-Out on Braid-Out Hairstyle                             How to Get a Fluffier and Fuller Twist-Out       ...

How to Get a Fluffier and Fuller Twist-Out!

1BlessedNatural: Bantu-knot out done on dry hair Happy Thursday, my blessed naturals! If you are looking for a fluffier and fuller twist-out, you may want to try twisting on dry hair. My twist and Bantu knot outs come out better when I do them on dry re-twisted or braided dry hair, but I have to apply a water based moisturizer and oil before twisting. If I do not use a moisturizer, my twist-out comes out with less definition because it doesn't set. Wet twist-outs give me a lot of definition, but my hair is less fuller. As a result, I have to fluff it out a lot.  1BlessedNatural: twist-out done on braid-out hair ( style ) Do you like your twist-outs better when they are done on wet hair, dry hair, or both? #naturalhairblog Related Articles: Twist-Out on Braid-Out Hairstyle                             Chunky Flat ...

M any of us naturals twist our hair before bedtime. But, what happens when you don't feel like twisting your hair and you want to keep your hair stetched, detangled, wavy, and/or curly? Here are 3 ways you can quickly style your hair before bedtime without having to sit and install several twists: After moisturizing and sealing, you can... 1. P ineappling The Pineapple hair method is when you put your natural hair in ponytails to keep your curls without the need to retwist. I do not use the Pineapple method often. But, when I do use it, I section my hair my hair into 4 ponytails. You may decrease or increase the amount based on your hair's length and thickness.                       2 . Twist Out Not Drying Overnight?

If you wash and twist your hair before bedtime, you may wake up with damp hair. I have found a technique that may work for you... Put your hair in 3-4 sections and big clip each section. You can remove the clips and smooth your hair from root to tip (to remove some of the dampness), about 20-30 minutes before you leave. After you've finished getting ready, you can remove the clips from the hair, separate, fluff. This method works 8 out of 10 times for me. Do you have a problem with your hair drying overnight?
