New Video: Using Banana Clips to Preserve My Twist-Out

Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals! The one complaint I hear from naturals the most is they are tired of twisting their hair every night. A while back, I let you all in on 3 quick alternatives to bedtime twists . Now, I have 1 more to add to the list. Lately, I haven't really been in the mood to do my hair, so twisting every night is not an option. I use banana clips or combs to style and preserve my twist-outs overnight. Check out the video below! You can comment, like, rate, and subscribe if you like :-) 1BlessedNatural: My twist-out in a banana clip Are you tired of twisting your natural hair every night? Mini Braids Style Challenge: Banana Clip with Bang Style #4

I'm still holding onto my braids, lol! Yesterday, I took the hair pins out of my hair and put my braids in a banana clip. Because the bang and side braids were shorter, they fell to the side. I pulled out some of the braids to make the sides more even. I've been spraying my hair with water and Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil every morning and night. I apply Shea Moisture Curly Enhancing Smoothie a few times a week. How long (at a time) do you keep your protective styles?

Hair Update : Keeping It Healthy and Stretched

I haven't given you all a hair update in a while. I'm glad to report that I am retaining my length. My curls have come back since I cut the heat damaged strands. I've continued my nightly routine of moisturizing, sealing, and twisting my hair. My current challenge for myself is to continue, as long as possible without needing to trim my ends. I have learned that I currently cannot wear my hair in regular Bantu knots. I have to do two-strand twist, pin curls instead, because my hair is fine and tangles easily. I also have to be careful when installing flat twists because my hair will tangle if I do not keep consistent sections when picking up the hair. My hair thrives better when it's stretched. It is also best if I do not sleep without twisting or banding my hair. As a result, I have been experimenting with different stretching styles. The style above was created using two banana clips: one at the top and one at the bottom. I split the hair in the middle o...

Hair Update: Banana Clip Ponytail Puff

Happy Sunday everyone! This is the day the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it.- Psalm 118-24 Even if you cannot get someone a gift this CHRISTmas, make sure you show them some love. Give them a hug :-) In hair-related news... I haven't been in the mood to do my hair. I keep saying I'm going to wash it. I threw some ECO Styler gel, water, and Cantu in my hair and put a banana clip in it. I didn't comb or brush it. I must admit that I was happy that my hair was long enough to pull into a ponytail. I don't think my it has ever been stretched enough to pull all of my hair together, except for a regular puff. What's your go-to style?

Banana Comb Updo for Natural Hair

Happy Saturday everyone! It is only the Lord that has gotten me through this week! I appreciate even the simplest things :-) Thank you Jesus! So, I was trying different styles with my hair. Of course, it looks the best at night lol. JazzWife mentioned that in her blog , and it is sooo true! You wake up in the morning and try duplicating the style , and it's never quite the same lol. Anyway... The Banana Clip or Comb was one of my favorite hair accessories to wear before I decided to go natural. Recently, one of my friend's and I joked around a few months ago about me being suped to wear them again. Now, I can wear them but only on part of my hair lol.     I pulled the middle-to-bottom section of hair into the banana clip and then left the side top half out. Then I twisted the hair on the side, about an inch and secured it with a bobby pin. Then I patted the hair into a round shape to avoid it sticking straight out.
