Cornrow and Flat Twist (Tuck and Roll) Updo

1BlessedNatural: Cornrow and Flat Twist (Tuck  and Roll) Updo
Happy Saturday, my blessed naturals,
Last night, I did my hair in a cornrow and flat twist (tuck and roll) updo. The protective style took me about 3 hours to complete. I noticed some small pieces of hair (aside from normal shedding) which means I'm experiencing some breakage. Nooo, lol! Since I haven't done a protein treatment in a while, I plan to do one in another 1 1/2 weeks when I wash my hair again. I might also do a hot oil treatment.

Style Details

The cornrow and flat twist (tuck and roll) updo is similar to the cornrow and pin curl twist updo. I did two weeks ago. The front is flat twisted instead of cornrowed. There are 4 flat twists coming to the front into a swoop bang The back is a curvy diagonal pattern instead of 2 sections. I used rubber bands to secure both the flat twists and cornrows. They are two-strand twisted from the middle to the end. If you are going to use rubber bands, be sure not to make them too tight. I have them securing the part of my flat twists and cornrows right after leaving the scalp. I'm not all that great at parting and cornrowing the back of my hair, but I'm going to keep practicing! LOL Bobby pins were used for the tuck and roll top part.
